How to make "Cell Phone" in Korea (Foreigners)

I thought it would be nice if there is a blog to guide things for forginers.

So, I started with this, "Cell Phone"
In Korea, cell phone is very important to have one. You probably know that, right?

First of all, you have to check if you do have 'foreigner registration card'

THERE IS BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HAVE OR NOT.

If you do have foreigner registration card, you can pay the cell phone monthly or have contract with that ID.

However, if you don't, you have to pay the cell phone when you get it.

You have '2 ways' to have cell phone in Korea.
1. You buy a cell phone with cash. It would cost you around 1000 US dollars.
2. If you have a cell phone(doesn't matter with used or new), you just need to buy USIM and put it into your phone.

◆ If you have foreigner registration card, you also can make a yr or 2 yrs contract with telecom ( Major telecoms are SKT, KT, LG U+ )

First of all, You must have a cell phone; doesn't matter with new or used one or buy one. As I mentioned earlier, if you want to buy them you probably have to pay a lot. Also, be careful with fraud.

Secondary, passport. You don't have to have visa or ID card to make a cell phone in South Korea.

You can buy and use a prepaid phone. 

There are many plans for the cell phone and it's different with every telecoms; You have to select the right one which fit to your circumstances. If you need more phone call than data, you can choose phone call unlimited such like that.\

You can choose the major 3 (SKT, KT, LG), but you also have minors as well.

NOW, FIND TELECOM STORE.

I believe you can see telecom stores. Just get there, and ask them. they might have english one or you can check here.
(It might help with choosing the plan before you go there)

You can write down on the paper the plan you want to have, then go to the store and get the phone!
